The holy island of Lindisfarne is only accessible during the low tide and is certainly worth a trip.

Steeped in history, the island was once home to St Aidan and boasts a unique 16th century castle. It was here that in the 8th century; monks created the famous Lindisfarne Gospels.

You can visit Lindisfarne Castle and Lindisfarne Priory then finish your visit with a taste of Lindisfarne Mead at St Aidan’s Winery.
